Dnsf 01 NSF pack November 29, 2005 File ID ---- 19-tet Modal Musical Test Written & Programmed by Diptera. 2-Part No. 4 Written & Programmed by Diptera. çİşçİş (Sorazora) Written & Programmed by Diptera. ---- *NOTES This is the second Diptera NSF pack. "19-tet..." is a test of MML's direct frequency select function, which allows the programmer to write any frequencies within the potential range. In this brief example, I wrote a tune whose intervals stay within the microtonal tuning system of 19-tone equal temperament (19-tet). The same example plays in four different modes -- minor, subminor, major, and supermajor -- then repeats. The system is based on the A = 440Hz standard. I created a chart (attatchment hexnote-19tet.html) to help the cumbersome task of writing in many hexidecimal numbers. I intend to compose a fully-developed NSF tune with microtonal intervals. Perhaps there will be a convenient way to integrate frequency-to-note-name assignments in FamiTracker ... "2-Part No. 4" is another very short loop for two voices, like my earlier "Canon From Planet Zebes" (2-Part No. 3). I couldn't come up with a better name for "Sorazora". I often just think of a random phrase for a name, and it sticks for good. Or bad, I don't know. To the best of my knowledge, the word roughly means "various empty skies" in Japanese. I just like languages. ---- All contents created 2005 by Stevie Hryciw. diptera@transtagonist.org (cc) 2005 This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License.
